Message and I only need the two step and WOT shifts. I doubt the wear and tear is severe for the few seconds it will be used.

:was the oil getting washed off the cylinder walls... luckily for him he doesn't have catalytic converters either because unburnt fuel would kill them.
:Again, the Techtom is a very nice unit... simple to install, simple to use, all in all a simple unit. The reason why it's cheaper than Racelogic is the lack of traction control (which you pointed out). Traction control is orders of magnitude more difficult to accomplish than simple rev limiters (which is why the wiring is more intense and why it costs more).
:But, if Pete wants just the rev limiters without the benefit of traction control and is willing to risk the additional wear on his engine, then it does seem that the Techtom would be ideal for him.
